The genuine lifter plate allows the spring to become unstable, causing vibrations that affect the clutch assembly, leading to poor engagement and clutch drag.
Vibrations prevent smooth, instantaneous engagement. This lack of engagement generates unnecessary heat and reduces the service life of discs and the clutch assembly.
Installing the SP Lifter Plate without the included washer reduces spring compression by 1.0mm compared to stock, resulting in a lighter lever pull while improving engagement and disengagement. This configuration is recommended.
For heavy-duty use, installing the included 1.0mm washer between the clutch center and the spring provides a lever pull weight nearly identical to stock with stronger engagement.
The bearing used in this type is pressed in firmly; therefore, it is pre-installed as a new unit and should not be reused if removed.
While the SP Lifter Plate improves clutch feel and operation, clutch plate grooving and surface finishing are recommended for further reduction of drag and heat fade.
