Crankshaft Hole Cap O-Ring for the Grom
About quality and texture: I am happy with the quality of the crankshaft hole cap O-Ring, made from a soft flexible rubber to help create a good seal.About the feeling of use: The previous owner had significantly over tightened the crankshaft cap and damaged the O-Ring, the K-Pit O-Ring fitted perfectly with zero leaks.Products to buy together: The timing hole cap O-Ring from K-Pit would also be desirable to purchase along side this crankshaft hole cap O-Ring as they are ideal to replace together after you have finished checking your valve clearances.Difficulty of installation: The process to install just takes a few minutes, remove the crankshaft hole cap, be sure to discard the old O-Ring as they can remain in the hole on the engine case and then fit your new O-Ring that has been lubricated lightly with engine oil. Do not over tighten the plug as the manual only calls out for 8 N.m. Not difficult to do.Cost performance and comparison with other products: Good costing as you are getting a quality part from K-Pit that was in stock and ready to ship unlike the Honda O-Ring but the K-Pit O-Ring is slightly more expensive.About shipping and packaging: Sea frieght was my perferred method of shipping due to the lower cost but currently unavailable due to Japan Post. Webike kept me updated on the status of my order up to when it shipped. The parcel arrived within the expected date range and was well packaged with no chance of the part being damaged.Any concerns, cautions, or advice when purchasing: View the Kitaco engine tuning and maintenance parts catalog to see what other maintenance parts K-Pit have to fit the Grom and the Monkey 125.
