Advanced compounds improve chemical grip and adhesion in all conditions.
METZELER's proprietary mixing technology produces a more homogeneous compound with better chemical properties and wear resistance.
The radial front tire offers a synergy between the excellent chemical grip of the 100% silica compound and the mechanical grip of the tread pattern.
Radial rear tires have a dual compound layout.The center section occupies about 20% of the tire width, and the remaining 80% is equally distributed between the two shoulders.
The center section contains a well-balanced blend of silica and carbon black to improve stability and heat dissipation at high speeds, and to achieve both wear resistance and grip performance.
The 100% silica compound in the shoulder area, in combination with the tread pattern as in the front tire, provides excellent grip on low friction surfaces.
The same compound is used on the front and rear shoulders to provide a stable ground contact feeling when leaning.
Cap & base construction (thin layer in the center of the compound distributed below the compound shoulder) ensures optimum heat dispersion.
All ROADTEC™01 radial tires are combined with METZELER Rodigree Steel Belt INTERACT™ technology for precise riding and long life.
ROADTEC™01 cross-ply front and rear tires feature a unique carbon black-based compound with approximately 30% silica.It provides optimum grip in dry conditions by utilizing the heat generated by the tire's structure to achieve the optimum operating temperature.The special resin increases the compound's mobility and adhesion, providing unparalleled grip in wet conditions.

Safety on wet and low friction surfaces
ROADTEC™ 01 is a new concept tread pattern developed by METZELER that improves mechanical traction and is clearly noticeable during acceleration and braking.
The front tires are characterized by numerous lateral grooves, which ensure a high grip on the road surface and high drainage.
The rear tires are oriented in opposite directions and are equipped with long and short grooves of different functions.
When braking, the short grooves reduce lateral movement and increase motorcycle stability.
The long grooves provide traction on low friction surfaces during acceleration.
Groove orientation also contributes to longer tire life.Groove design and spacing are adjusted to increase the land sea ratio and increase the amount of rubber in contact with the road surface.
At the same time, the direction of the grooves follows the wear wave of the tire, which makes the tread wear more uniform and maintains the tread performance until the end of the tire life.
The ROADTEC™ 01's distinctive tread design and construction provide drainage and optimum grip.

Long life and consistent performance
ROADTEC™ 01 offers a 10% increase in service life compared to ROADTEC™ Z8 INTERACT™.
The wide and short ground contact surfaces with innovative profiles reduce the consumption of the tire compound and ensure uniform wear.
ROADTEC™ 01 has a shorter and wider ground contact surface than ROADTEC™ Z8 INTERACT™, which has the following two effects.

Tire slip is reduced and wear rate is greatly reduced
Motorcycle weight and acceleration forces are distributed over a wider area of the tire, reducing compound loading and preventing overheating
The ROADTEC™ 01's contact surface with the road surface has an increased amount of tread and edges in contact at the same time, which improves mechanical grip, drainage and safety.Also, by having more rubber in contact with the ground, it provides chemical grip right from the start of leaning, especially in the mid-bank area.

ROADTEC™ 01 has a more flexible carcass than ROADTEC™ Z8 INTERACT™.
